But we started fighting almost every night, it seemed that nothing I did was right
He spent a lot of time at the bar down the way with a waitress named Doris half his age
He said he didn’t love her but I found the note, “I’m moving on” he wrote
“Sell the boat”

Chorus:
That 20 foot Bayliner is worth thirty grand
Doris is pregnant, he said it wasn’t planned
I’ll give him what he’s owed, I’ll sell the boat

I cried my heart out, I didn’t understand, still I placed the ad, my inbox was slammed
First guy who came, “Is this a joke”, he said, “Does it leak? Is the motor dead?”
“Nothing is wrong” I said with a sigh, he looked it over then took it for a ride
“We bought it last year, it’s almost new”, the buyer shrugged and paid what was due

That 20 foot Bayliner is worth 30 grand
Doris is pregnant, I don’t care if it was planned
I got what was owed, I sold the boat

Bridge:
I sent the money to my cheatin’ ex, I hope that he enjoys that $5 cheque
